چکیده مقاله:

Background: Increased evidences have shown that unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion (URSA) is associated with inflammatory responses and breakage of immunological autotolerance. Therefore, the balance between Th17 and Treg cells may elucidate the pathophysiology of URSA. Objective: To investigate the serum concentration of regulatory and inflammatory cytokines associated with Treg and Th17 in both normal and URSA females. Methods: Forty-six women with URSA and 28 non-pregnant control women with at least one successful pregnancy were included. Serum was obtained from both groups and stored at -70°C. The serum concentrations of IL-17, IL-21, IL-22, IL-10, and TGF-β were quantitatively determined by ELISA. Results: The levels of IL-17, IL-21, and IL-22 in sera were significantly higher (P

P-157: TLR5 Gene Expression in Endometrium of Women with Unexplained Recurrent Spontaneous Abortion

Background: Recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) is usually defined as three or more consecutive pregnancy losses before 20th week of gestation. Although different factors are considered as etiology of RSA but in some cases, despite of extensive work up, the cause of RSA remains unknown which called unexplained RSA. Immunological factors are suggested as etiological factors of unexplained RSA. ...

Seroprevalence of CMV and Rubella in Women with Recurrent Spontaneous Abortion in Comparison with Normal Delivery

Background & Objectives: Recurrent spontaneous abortion occurs by different etiological causes including viral infections. Cytomegalovirus and rubella infections can cause or promote the recurrent fetal loss. Cytomegalovirus is one of the important viral infections which may play a role in recurrent spontaneous abortion. Also, rubella virus infection can induce abortion especially in the first ...

Alteration of Th17 and Treg cells in patients with unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion before and after lymphocyte immunization therapy

BACKGROUND Several types of T cells have been associated with the pathogenesis of unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion (URSA), including Th1/Th2/Th17/Tregs cell. It has been appreciated that immunotherapy with paternal or third party lymphocytes is an effective method of treatment for URSA patients. The balance of Th1/Th2 cells could be maintained and an increase of Treg cells would be be...

Serum levels of folate and cobalamin in women with recurrent spontaneous abortion.

We evaluated the folate and cobalamin status in 29 non-pregnant women with a history of recurrent spontaneous abortion (three or more consecutive) of unknown aetiology in comparison to 29 healthy nulligravidae of similar reproductive age (controls). Serum concentrations of folate and cobalamin showed no significant differences between the two groups. No correlation between age and vitamin conce...

Haemostatic and metabolic abnormalities in women with unexplained recurrent abortion.

The objective of this study was to establish whether or not patients with unexplained recurrent abortion have an increased incidence of haemostatic or metabolic abnormalities. Fifty-two patients with a history of unexplained habitual abortion (two or more spontaneous abortions before 16 weeks' gestation) were tested for protein S, protein C and antithrombin (AT) III deficiency, activated protei...

Serum Leptin Levels in Women with Immunological Recurrent Abortion

INTRODUCTION Recurrent abortion (RA) may be a consequence of aberrant expression of immunological factors during pregnancy. Although the relative importance of immunological factors in human reproduction remains controversial, substantial evidence suggests that autoantibodies contribute to reproductive failure. Production of such antibodies is under the control of cytokines; and leptin, besides...
